Minnesota snow storm: What’s next (Tuesday evening forecast)
It was a messy afternoon. Ian Leonard has a look at what’s next for this ongoing winter storm that is impacting Minnesota. Condition update as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2022.
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) – Road conditions across Minnesota worsened throughout Tuesday as heavy snow fell across numerous areas.
Snow has begun to taper off until this evening when another round of snow develops tonight and lingers into tomorrow, possibly adding another 2-4 inches of snow.
Notable snow totals across the Twin Cities metro so far include Waconia (6.4 inches), Chanhassen (5.5 inches) and Hopkins (5.2 inches).
Current road conditions across Minnesota
According to MnDOT’s website, roads across southern Minnesota are covered or partially covered in snow and/or ice, while major roads in the Twin Cities are largely clear, except for some icy spots.
In south-central Minnesota, MnDOT is advising no travel in numerous counties (dark purple on the map below) Tuesday morning due to dangerous travel.
